The SEIKO DT-40 is a versatile multi-function LED timer offering 11 different operating modes, making it ideal for sports, training, and event management. It functions as a countdown and count-up timer, each programmable up to 99 minutes and 59 seconds with full or 1/10-second resolution. It includes a stopwatch with lap or cumulative split times, and a segment timer allowing up to 9 different countdown settings, repeatable up to 99 times. The clock mode offers 12 or 24-hour display with five alarm settings. In scoring mode, it tracks two team scores up to 99 and games or sets won up to 9. Game modes let users switch the display between score and either countdown or count-up time. Tennis mode tracks points, games, serve, and tie-break scenarios. It also includes a 4-digit numerical display (0 to 9999) and a remaining date display that counts down days to an event from up to 9,998 days away.

The SEIKO DT-40 has dimensions of 22 x 8 x 5 and is powered by AC 100-240V. It can be displayed on table-top, hung on a wall, or displayed with the SEIKO KT-011 caster stand (sold separately).
